Are You a Sinner?
Wednesday's Devotion (5-10-06)
"Not a novice, lest being lifted up with
pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil." 1 Timothy 3:6 (KJV)
I'm going to tell you something that a lot of Christians
still don't know, because if they knew they wouldn't continue to use a certain
phrase, "I'm the biggest sinner in the world!" It's a sin to use that phrase,
and I'm going to tell you why. It's prideful to say that, believe it or not.
Might not seem like pride, but it is... Because it is putting you above the
other sinners in an awkward way. I'm going to tell you what I personally believe
is wrong with it too, the first reason is actually listed in the Bible. Here's
my reason: When you say that you're the biggest sinner, then you insult Christ
if you have accepted Christ. You have allowed Christ to take your sins away, but
then you act as if they're not cleansed off of you by saying that. By saying
that you're the biggest sinner, then you're also saying that Christ died for no
effect and that you are just the same as the unsaved.
It is also sinful to say that someone else is the biggest sinner, because that
is also putting yourself above them... Like you are better than them or more
holy. SIN IS SIN, Jesus washes it all away just the same. Think you're better
than the next door neighbor because the neighbor committed murder? I don't think
so! We are all guilty of murder in God's eyes just by having hatred in our
hearts. Therefore, everything that your neighbor has done you're most likely
guilty of it too! Sin has no ranks. There is no high score when it comes to sin,
and there is no low score. The only person that doesn't have a score when it
comes to sin is Jesus Christ! He came to earth and He was sin free. The sooner
we all realize that we are equal sinners, and that Jesus is the one WITHOUT
sin... the closer we get to the big revival, and the closer we can get to Jesus.
Pride is pulling us away from Christ on a daily basis. The question I ask you
all to answer right here in public is: Are you a sinner? This is one common bond
that we all share, the most important common bond that we share as Christians is
that Jesus has washed those sins away IF we confess our sins and turn from them.
If you read this and don't answer the question of the day, then I'll take it as
you thinking you're not a sinner. If you think you're not a sinner, that makes
it impossible for you to receive the gift of salvation!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to not be prideful and to trust in you. Help us to confess our sins to
you. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
