Lord
Saturday's Devotion (5-6-06)
"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not
the things which I say?" Luke 6:46 (KJV)
I love this scripture, because it helps us spot God's true
children. If you go to church and see the pastor yelling, "Lord, hallelujah,
a-men, praise the Lord!!" then you see him treat some like total trash, then you
know that you are in the wrong church! I've found that leaders reflect the
entire group in which they lead. If the leader of a church is racist, then it's
safe to say that the majority (if not all,) of his church are also racist. How
do I come to this conclusion? Because people know what kind of leader they want,
people choose their own leaders! The leaders don't choose the followers. If
you're in a corrupt church, then you're there because you choose to be... And
therefore, you are no better than those corrupt people around you. If you don't
like it, or if you know that your church leader is wrong you can do one of two
things: You can correct them with the scriptures, or you can move on to a
different church. If you do neither of those two things, then you are supporting
the problem! Some people just pick a church and stay with it because they need
to be in submission to authority. It's true, we do need to be in submission...
BUT we need to be in submission to godly people! We have to make sure that we
are not in submission to Satan's minions! If you're in submission to evil people
then how can you call Jesus Christ your Lord? You pick your church, your church
doesn't pick you - DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS THAN GODLY!
In order for Jesus to be your Lord, you have to be in submission to Him first
and foremost. The whole point of a pastor is for that pastor to feed his flock
with truth and with godliness. The point of a pastor is to lead his or her flock
to God's Kingdom! You do need a pastor, but you need one that's in tune with
God... Because a pastor that is in tune with God will help you be in tune with
God as well. I've met some great Christians, some of them are followers while
others are leaders. I've met some great pastors, it's just a shame that their
church isn't even in my state! Anyway, let's get back on subject. If you're not
in submission to Jesus, then He's not your Lord. Of course He's the Lord of
everyone, but if you're not in submission to Him... Then in your heart, you
don't consider Him as being your Lord. That puts you in a very dangerous spot.
If you go to work, but you NEVER listen to your boss... then is your boss really
your boss? NO! Sooner or later you're going to get fired too. Well, trust me you
don't want Jesus to fire you! When Jesus fires you, it's a literal firing!
Calling Him Lord alone will not get you into Heaven, but calling Him Lord AND
obeying Him with all your heart will. The next time the Lord tells you to help a
homeless man on the street, if you don't obey Jesus... Don't bother kissing up
to Him with that, "Lord" stuff. He sees your heart, don't try to play games with
the Lord. He's not like your boss at work. You can't tell Jesus, "You're a great
Lord," and then talk trash behind His back - THERE IS NO BEHIND HIS BACK!
Whatever you say or do is out in the open when it comes to Jesus. You're not
going to get away with calling on Jesus one night and Satan the next and back to
Jesus and so on! Choose your side, you can't work both sides! You choose your
side, just like you choose your leader. You people can knock me for not having a
church yet, but I'm not just going to pick any old church! I will not be seen in
a house that belongs to Satan that's trying to disguise itself as God's house!
It isn't fooling God, so why bother with it? When I find that right church with
that godly leader, then I'm going to be going there for a long time to come!
There was this one great church near our old place, we can't get there now...
But the pastor was a great man, and the people in the church were there for you!
The whole church gathered and prayed for our needs. They really cared about us,
and I'm talking about the first day we went there! They didn't even know us!
That's a real church, that's a real fellowship, that's real leadership! That's
what I want in a church. If you want a mediocre church, then you can have it...
Just don't expect people like me to settle for it with you.
Please let me hear your comments on this.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Help us to find the right churches and the right godly leaders to follow. May we
follow the godly leaders that will lead us to you. Let us be able to call you
Lord in truth and not just word. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
