Be Leaders!
Saturday's Devotion (4-29-06)
"And whosoever will be chief among you, let
him be your servant:" Matthew 20:27 (KJV)
A true leader should be a servant. Just like a good
husband works to support his wife, because the husband is the head of the house.
Our president of the country is supposed to be our servant, he works to serve us
and to make a better country for us to live in. Our ministers are our servants:
If a minister isn't willing to so much as wash your feet, then he/she is not a
true minister! Jesus washed the apostles' feet. In other words, if a leader is
unwilling to serve then they are also unworthy to lead. If you're not willing to
serve, then you're not leadership material. Just like if you're not willing to
work and support a wife, then you're not spouse material.
If you want to be great, if you want to leave some kind of legacy, then you must
be willing to serve your fellow man. Every great person in history did
something, none of them got where they're at by doing nothing. Is there someone
in the history books that's famous for being a couch potato? Is there anyone
that's famous for serving themselves a big scoop of ice cream? I don't think so!
If you want to be someone of importance, then you have to do something of
importance. That's a big problem with Christians today, most are too busy
serving themselves and not others. In other words, there are not enough leaders.
People think that they're, "too good," to serve others. Well, guess what? Not
serving others doesn't make you too good, it makes you something else entirely!
Like I said, Jesus washed his apostles' feet. Don't put yourself above the Lord
God! If our God could do something like that, then why can't you? If you're
putting yourself on a pedestal above God, then you're going to get knocked off
that real fast! The fall will be long and the landing will be real painful and
deadly. Be leaders, not lazy and uncaring people.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to be great leaders, willing to serve everyone, especially you. In Jesus
name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
