Provide For The Lord!

Monday's Devotion (4-24-06)

"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40 (KJV)

This scripture is really amazing to me. Whatever we do or don't do for others, we are doing it or not doing it to Jesus. If we feed the hungry, we're feeding Jesus. If we let the hungry starve, then we are also letting Jesus starve. If we give a jacket to the cold then we are giving warmth to a cold Jesus, and if we don't... We're letting our own Lord go cold. When I see this scripture it just changes my point of view on everything. How could I do something that would hurt Jesus?

What some people fail to see is that whether we help a saved person, or an unsaved person we are still doing it as unto Jesus Himself. Our service, our help shouldn't require that one be saved to get it. Our help should also help bring the needy one step closer to salvation. Meaning: The needy don't have to get saved to get help, we should help them so they'll become closer to accepting Jesus Christ. We are supposed to be shining lights in a dark world. There's nothing that I hate more than hearing about churches rejecting the unsaved, or hearing about the proclaimed, "saved" believers treating non-believers like garbage. Even if you treat a non-believer like trash, you are treating Jesus in the same manner! Is that what Jesus means to you? Is He to be thrown out with your trash in your mind? God forbid that any of you think more of yourself than you do of Jesus Christ, our Lord! Provide for the Lord as He has provided for you!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to treat you well with the respect and love that you deserve. Don't let us treat you badly by treating others badly or by not providing for their needs. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
