Sunday's Devotion (4-16-06)

"And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:4 (KJV)

Happy Easter everyone! In case you didn't know, today is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yes, that's right... Today isn't really about that big pink bunny with the Easter eggs. I hope that everyone is having a good Easter and I hope that you are all celebrating the resurrection of Jesus and the salvation He gives us.

I don't have much to say today, but I do have something. There are people out there who don't believe in Jesus Christ, or they've refused Him... But yet, they still want to celebrate Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, etc. That's fine, but these same atheists are trying to take away what the holiday is about by making sure that the stores say, "Happy Holidays," instead of "Merry Christmas," and such. They don't want us to mention Jesus on the holidays that we have BECAUSE of JESUS! These are religious holidays for us to celebrate, if they want to celebrate that's fine... But they have no right to destroy our holidays, they have no right to change our holidays to something that they were never intended to be. If they want to do that, then let them create their own holidays! Leave ours alone! In other words, all I'm trying to say is don't let anyone stop you from celebrating the holidays the way they should be celebrated. I'm sure that most of you live in the United States of America, and why do you live here? Because this is the land of the free, not the land of the captives! You are free to celebrate anything that you want to celebrate. Don't ever let anyone take that away from you.

Well, that's all I really have to say. Again, I just hope you all have a happy Easter, no matter who you are. Just stay focused on what today is about and the gift that you are celebrating (salvation,) don't let anything bring you down today because we're celebrating the day that HE ROSE UP!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to stay positive and help us to know what today is all about. May we all have a blessed day, and we thank you Jesus for dying and rising on the third day for us. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board or in our Guestbook.
