He's Never Late!
Sunday's Devotion (4-2-06)
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour
your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known
in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have
suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an
hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Matthew 24:42-44 (KJV)
First off let me say this: If someone tells you that they
know when Jesus will return just tell them, "Keep your false prediction to
yourself, I don't want to hear it!" I'm going to tell you why. Satan wants you
to believe that you know the time of the Lord's return. Why? Because he wants
you to be unprepared when Jesus really does return. He might have you believe
that Jesus is returning in 5 years, but He might return way before then. So you
believe that He's coming in 5 years and you live a sinful life, and then one
morning or afternoon or night the Lord pulls up and you're sleeping in sin. You
didn't expect Him so early that's your excuse, right? Well, it doesn't matter
He's not going to beep his horn, He's not going to wait for you to get ready.
The bottom line is that when He pulls up to your house, you better be out there
waiting on Him or He's leaving without you!
There isn't one person on this planet or out of this planet besides God that
knows the true time of the return of Christ. I don't care if the Pope tells you
that Christ will return next week! I don't care if it's Billy Graham, Chuck
Smith, or Michael Jackson for that matter! It doesn't matter who predicts a
return time for Christ, it can not be accurate! It's not like God is going to
say, "I favor you, so I'm going to tell you the secret that nobody else knows."
No, it doesn't work that way. God will not lie! His word says that no man knows
and no man knows! If I turn on my television and see some preacher preaching a
date, then I'm going to change the channel. If I can't change the channel or
turn it off, I'll put my foot through the screen. I'm not going to listen to it,
and I hope that all of you aren't going to either! I already have the man made
image of Christ stuck in my head, I don't need a man made date stuck in there
too. If it's man made then it's made to be broken. If someone told you a date
for the return of Christ and you believed it and got ready for that day, and
Christ never showed... That's not because He broke His reservation, it's because
He never set a reservation for that day! Jesus may not come when you want Him
to, but He's never late!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to be right with you at all times, and may we never believe man made
predictions and may we never attempt to predict the time of your Son's return.
In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
