A Very Delicate Matter
Saturday's Devotion (3-25-06)
"He that is faithful in that which is least
is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in
much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will
commit to your trust the true riches?" Luke 16:10-11 (KJV)
It seems that there are only a few people you can trust in
life. If someone lies to you about even something small, or if they steal just a
little from you... Then that is a violation of trust, that is also a sign of
unfaithfulness. That's not to say that they can never change, there is always a
chance of change. That's just saying that when they're the kind of person that
would do those things, then how can you trust them? How can you trust them with
bigger things? If someone stole a dollar from you last week, how can you trust a
thousand dollars with them this week? If they would break your trust for only a
dollar, then you certainly can't trust them with a thousand dollars!
If you're a person that can be trusted in all things, then you are in for many
blessings in life. If you can't be trusted then you'll never amount to anything.
Let's take credit cards for example. When you apply for a credit card they check
your credit history. If you have a history of not paying your debts, then you
will not get the credit card you applied for! Why? Simply because you can't be
trusted. That's understandable. If you want a new credit card, pay off your old
debts and show that you are worthy of trust again! Some of you have burned your
bridges with everyone. Nobody trusts you, because you did so many wrongs to them
in the past. If you want back in their lives, then you're going to have to pay
your old debts. What I mean by that is that you're going to have to work it out
with them, and show that you can be trusted again. One of my mottos is: "I'll
forgive you, but I'm not going to be stupid and trust you again!" They have to
earn that trust all over again. Trust is a very delicate thing, when it is
broken sometimes it can't be repaired without help from above! Don't forget that
trust is a very delicate matter. If you have people that trusts you, then don't
break that trust. If you don't have anyone that trusts you, then that's a sign
that you need a change. People should feel safe to turn their backs away from
you for a moment. They shouldn't have to worry about getting stabbed the moment
they turn around.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to be able to trust others, and more importantly may others be able to
trust us. Also help us to put all our trust in you, for you are the only one
worthy of all our trust! In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
