Flee Fornication
Tuesday's Devotion (3-14-06)
"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man
doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against
his own body." 1 Corinthians 6:18 (KJV)
Fornication and adultery pretty much go into the same
category. However, did you know that looking at pornography or at people in a
sexual manner is the same as cheating on your spouse (adultery,) or fornicating?
Pornography is one of the top killers of marriages . Every single day someone
catches his/her spouse looking at pornography, and it causes trouble between
them. It doesn't just cause trouble for those who are caught, it causes trouble
for all who look at pornography or lust over people. If you know that you have
cheated on your spouse in any way, then it will wear on your conscience. It will
slowly creep up and destroy your marriage. Why? Because God created marriage for
ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN.
You are made one with your spouse, and if you cheat on your spouse then you
suffer for it and your marriage suffers the most. You need to remain one with
your spouse, that means that you can't cheat on your spouse. People don't
understand that marriage is a holy union. People get married when they know that
they will cheat on their spouse. My cousin's wife cheated on him on their
honey-moon! I don't mean to judge, but this woman must've known that she would
cheat on her husband. Why would she marry him? Why lie to someone and commit to
their face and then behind their back break the vows? Vows aren't meant to be
broken and there is a penalty for breaking them. God takes promises/vows very
seriously and when you get married you make vows!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please help all to be faithful to their spouses and not to commit fornication or
adultery. Draw us closer to you and make us stronger. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
