Hate In The Name of Christianity?

Wednesday's Devotion (3-8-06)

"For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another." 1 John 3:11 (KJV)

"A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty." www.WorldNetDaily.com

Today's devotion isn't a devotion, it's just a simple message. This democratic candidate, Merrill Keiser Jr. wants to murder homosexuals legally. Not only that, BUT...

"Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion."
www.WorldNetDaily.com

This man comes in the name of Christianity? I want you all to know that if this man's agenda is indeed to kill homosexuals, then this man is NOT a Christian. This is not the Christian way, our way is love. We don't kill people, we work to convert them. How do we convert them? Not by fear as many believe, but by love! Hatred will not save this country from immorality, it will just create more of it. It is sickening that this man comes to the public as immorality disguised as morality. A wolf in sheep's clothing if you will.

I'm begging everyone who will have a vote on this, please don't vote for Merrill Keiser Jr. I don't think that he would get away with what he wants to do, at least I don't want to believe that he would... However, a man like this should not be an elected official of our country or any other.

God knows how I used to feel about homosexuals BEFORE I became a Christian. Now that I'm right with the Lord, I am filled with love not with hate. I see that the right way isn't to hurt these people, but to love them. If you vote for Merrill Keiser Jr. and he gets his way... And he kills homosexuals, then their blood is on your hands too. That's not a good thing either. The Lord commands us, "Thou shalt not kill." If you vote for this man, you are a murderer! Whether you're the man who executes or the man who orders the execution, it makes no difference. Murder is murder! Hate is hate, no matter who it is against. Someone else had a good point. If this man gets away with executing homosexuals, then what's next? Hate is not the answer, love is!

I ask that you'd please pass this message to everyone you know: Whether they be homosexual or not. It is important that everyone read this, and understand what Christianity is about. It isn't about the hatred that certain people bring in the name of Christianity. It is about the love that Christ had for ALL of us. It is about us sharing that love with EVERYONE. Don't let the ignorant actions of some condemn the entire Christian faith.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please don't let this man be elected. Stop the violence, and the hate. Don't let people believe that this hatred is coming from you and your true children. We call on you to protect your name from being dishonored by people who spread hate in your name. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
