Lay Down Your Life

Sunday's Devotion (2-26-06)

"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." Ephesians 5:1-2 (KJV)

Sorry that there was no devotion yesterday on www.GodsLovingKindness.com. We now have a new way of posting the daily devotion, we're using a www.myspace.com website. The direct link to the site we're using is www.myspace.com/glkdevotion.  Of course www.GodsLovingKindness.com is still up and will remain active with user submissions, etc. But for the daily devotions we'd like to strike up some conversation with you all, this is why we're using a MySpace account. Please do not debate the Word of God or the existence of God here. This is strictly a place for edification, not debate and especially not to tear people down. I hope you all will appreciate and enjoy the new system. You can still read archived devotions on www.GodsLovingKindness.com, and all new devotions will be archived immediately. So, if you don't like the new setup then go to the bottom of the archives page.

Well, on with today's devotion. The Bible teaches us to love others as Christ loved us. Christ died for us. With that in mind, I have to ask you: Would you die for someone else? Even someone you don't know, or more importantly would you die for an enemy? When Christ died for us, we were still His enemies because we were living in sin. The Bible tells us that if you're not with Him, you're against Him! At one time we were all against Him, but He still died for us. Would you do the same for your enemies?

Having love and forgiveness for others is very important. If we don't have it, then we can't fully love Christ. If we can't fully love Christ, then we're hindering our walks with Him. We're not getting the full blessings and we're definitely not going to make it into God's Kingdom this way. We have to learn to let go of the past, and we have to learn to love all people. How can you love people that you don't know? Well, if you see someone in need on the streets you can love them by giving to them. If you see someone in danger you can do something about it. Always be prepared to lay your life down for an enemy or a stranger. You should be showing love every where you go to everyone you meet!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to love everyone, and may we be willing to lay our lives down for others as you did for us. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board or in our Guestbook.
