Your Heart Is The Altar!
Monday's Devotion (2-20-06)
"For there is one God, and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to
be testified in due time." 1 Timothy 2:5-6 (KJV)
What I'm about to say isn't meant to offend anyone, but it
might offend some. You see, I have three problems that I know of with the
Catholic religion. The first one is that they have ministers that do the job of
talking to God for us! My problem with that is, Jesus died so that we could
communicate with the Father directly anytime we choose! We are given the Holy
Ghost as a direct line to God. My second problem is that they call these
ministers, "Father," Jesus tells us to call no man on earth Father, except our
Heavenly Father. My third problem is that they pray to images, and statues. I
don't know much of anything else about their religion, but these things are
wrong. I'm going to tell you something else though... Catholics are saved too!
They're saved too, because their faith is also in Jesus Christ. That is the most
important factor here. I do hear of many people completely condemning the
Catholics. This I don't agree with. Just about every church these days have
something off about them. None of us are perfect, but we need to try and be
perfect, even though it's impossible on this earth.
I do try to guard my heart though. I strictly follow only the Bible. When I look
for a church, I look for one that is as strict as me when it comes to the Word
of God (The Bible.) No word of the Bible should be used out of context, none of
it should be changed, nothing should be added, and nothing taken away! I also
don't agree with ministers giving their own opinions as if their own word is the
Word of God! This is why I'm a Non-denominational Christian. I believe the
Bible, and nothing else! The Bible and God speaking to your heart are the only
words you can trust. I have Catholic friends that think they can only pray at
church, because the church has the altar. Today my friends, I tell you that the
altar is in your heart. The offering is thanksgiving. You can talk to God
anytime, day or night! Guess what else? God wants you to talk to Him every day!
We're no longer living in the Old Testament, we are in the New Testament!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please help us to trust in your Word, and not the word of man. Draw us closer to
you, and set us free. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
message board or in our
