Will You Ever Be Happy?

Tuesday's Devotion (2-14-06)

"Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them." Proverbs 24:1 (KJV)

If you're not in obedience to this scripture, then you are holding yourself back from many blessings! I can hear some of you saying, "But that guy I know has a nice car, a nice house, and everything, and he isn't even a believer!" It doesn't matter. I'll tell you what that guy doesn't have that you do have: You have Jesus, you have inner peace, and you have many more blessings in Christ Jesus! Money can't buy those things, and those are things that very few people have. Be thankful for what you have, otherwise you are holding yourself back from more blessings.

If you look at everything as being unfair. If every time you see someone who isn't a believer prosper and you get angry over it, you start to grow bitter. You start to be unthankful, and you put yourself into a dangerous position. You put yourself in a position to fall! It's almost like you climb a mountain, walk over to the edge, and hold onto the edge with one hand and step off the edge. You're just asking to fall off if you do something like that! Not only that, but if you become unthankful for what YOU have, then my belief is that you won't get much more in life. If you can't see the blessings that you have now, then how will you ever be happy? Money won't make you happy, you won't be happy once you get it! You think that you will be, but if you're never content and never thankful, then you're never happy! Some of you probably read the title, and you said, "That's a good question. Will I ever be happy?" Well, I have the answer: If you trust in Jesus, and if you're content, and if you're not envious, then the answer is YES you will be happy! If you stay positive even though the guy next door has a great car, and your car is dead, etc. As the song goes, "Don't Worry, Be Happy!"

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to be content and to trust in you. Help us to stay positive and to be happy through the good and the bad. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
