Our God Is a Jealous God!

Monday's Devotion (2-13-06)

"No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Luke 16:13 (KJV)

There are some people trying to serve two or more masters. And guess what? They can never please both masters. For example: Some peoples' god is sex. They can't serve their lust by having sex with many people and still serve Jesus Christ... Because the Lord tells us not to commit adultery or fornication. It's a conflict of interests to try and serve two masters. It's a conflict because you can never please both! If you're trying to serve another master besides the Lord, then the Lord can't find pleasure in you. Our God is a jealous God!

Whatever your gods are, if they're not the Lord Jesus Christ, God Almighty, then you need to lay those gods down! If you don't, then you will not be able to inherit eternal life in God's Kingdom! If your god is Garfield (Yes, the cartoon cat,) and he tells you, "Eat tons of food, more than you could ever need.." and you obey him, then you disobey the Lord. You can't worship anyone or anything other than the Lord, Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter how 'good' of a person you are, the only thing that gives you salvation is Jesus Christ alone!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to serve only you and no other god, because there is no other god beside you! In Jesus name. A-men!
