Maybe The Most Important Message of Your Life!

Sunday's Devotion (2-12-06)

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" Luke 6:46 (KJV)

Today's Sunday, the day where millions of people go to church to give their weekly lip service. "PRAISE THE LORD, HALLELUJAH! A-MEN!" Nothing wrong with these phrases, IF you mean what you're saying. People continue to deceive themselves into thinking that because they go to church once a week that they will go to Heaven when they die. Sunday comes once a week, but life in God's Kingdom is eternal! What makes one day of the week worth an eternity in Heaven? NOTHING! Do you know what makes us worthy of an eternity in Heaven? NOTHING, but we are promised that if we believe in and if we have a relationship with Jesus Christ, then we WILL have eternity in His Holy Kingdom! This relationship we're supposed to have with Him is supposed to be the relationship of our lives. It's supposed to be greater than our relations with our spouses, our mothers, our dads, our sisters, our friends, etc. What does that mean to you? That means if you want eternal peace and if you want eternal life with Jesus Christ, then you have to give Him everyday of your life now.

It's really not hard. He just wants you to give Him prayer time daily, and He wants you to study His Word (The Bible,) so you can know Him better. He wants you to use what you've learned from His Word to follow Him. He wants you to be filled with the presence of the Holy Ghost everyday, not just Sundays. Many of you are passing up a great blessing in that. You call Him, "LORD," but you're not obeying Him daily. If you're not obeying Him, then your lip service is in vain (It's worthless!) If your church isn't teaching this message, then I wish that you would copy this message and post it on their walls! Keith Green said it best, "Going to church makes you no more a Christian than going to McDonalds makes you a hamburger!" If you follow Jesus everyday of your life, but never go to church... That's fine! You are saved by Jesus Christ, not by a church's four walls. Churches are great though if they're solid in the real doctrine of Jesus Christ. I would never tell anyone not to go to church. All I'm saying is don't base your eternity in God's Kingdom on one Sunday each week. If your church tells you any different... If they tell you, "In order to be saved, you must come here!" then find another church immediately, and get out of there! Why? Because that's ridiculous. It'd be as ridiculous as me telling you that you must visit my website everyday. I'd be thankful if you did, but that certainly doesn't decide your eternity. I know people that are turned completely upside down. They don't feel saved anymore because they left a little Bible group that made them feel that way. They feel that because they left this group that they've also back-slidden. Some of them have even turned from the faith because they left this group, and they feel that there's no use to try now. God's judgment will come strong against these groups/churches that turn His children away from Him! It will come strong against those who deceive His children for their own personal gain! Whoever says that you need to be in their church to be saved, let's just say that I'd hate to be in their shoes on that great and terrible day of Judgment! I don't believe that God takes kindly to us leading His children away from Him. If you're one of these people, then you better repent right now, and never do it again! You should also try to find all the people that you've deceived and tell them that you were wrong!

BE FREE FROM THE CHAINS OF WORKS! You aren't saved by works, you are saved by faith and love for Jesus Christ! With these things the works will follow, but without these things the works mean nothing!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to worship you with all our heart, and not just with our mouths. Help us to serve you in all that we do, and help us not to be deceived. Free us from the chains of works. Don't let us live by works, but let us live by faith in Christ, so that we may do greater works in our future. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
