A New Commandment?

Monday's Devotion (2-6-06)

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:34-35 (KJV)

Yesterday we talked about being a light, today's message is from the same mold really. Without love you CAN'T be a light at all. You have people that call themselves Christians and they go out and do harm to homosexuals, and to anyone that they themselves consider to be, "ungodly." This is far from love. If you're a follower of Jesus Christ, and if you're filled with His Holy Spirit, and with His love... Then you will love everyone regardless of their status in life. You see, it's with the love of Christ that we can bring many souls to Jesus. The power of love is also the power to convert a soul. Beating people half to death and hating people will never achieve anything worth achieving! In persecuting sinners you persecute yourself, because you show that you know the laws of God. If you know the laws of God, then you are more responsible for your sins against those that don't know the laws than they are for breaking the laws.

Your job as a believer in Jesus Christ isn't to pass judgment, your job is to give the Word of God. It is by the Word that you give to them that Jesus Christ will judge in the day of Judgment! Let's say that someone didn't know that it was sinful to even think about murdering someone... When you told them this, and they continued thinking that way, then God's wrath is upon them! But also, you can't just tell people wrong from right, you need to back it up with scripture evidence! What you need to do is not pass judgment, but pass the love of Christ through the gospel. If you have salvation, then what makes someone else less worthy? We are all unworthy before God! Think about that when you're passing judgment instead of love. I mean do you want to approach God on judgment day and say, "I did this because they were unworthy, I had to destroy them. I had to send them away. I had to judge them?" Do you want to say that to God? If you do, then He's going to HAVE to judge you as well... He's going to HAVE to send you away, and He's going to HAVE to destroy your soul. It only makes sense because we are all equally unworthy compared to our Lord Jesus Christ.

New Testimony: We have a new Testimony up on the Testimonies page. The testimony is from Huck Davis. Thank you very much Huck!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to spread your love, and not to judge others. Help us to bring many souls to you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board or in our Guestbook.
