Being a Light in a Dark World
Sunday's Devotion (2-5-06)
"And if thou draw out thy soul to the
hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity,
and thy darkness be as the noon day:" Isaiah 58:10 (KJV)
Shining your light comes in many forms. When you're kind
to a person they can see no wrong in you. When they see no wrong in you, they in
some way wonder how they can be this way. I'm not saying that there is no wrong
in you, I'm saying that they see no wrong in you when you're kind to them. How
can a starving person see wrong in you when you feed them? If you do good unto
others, that's the greatest way to save souls. If they know that you're a
believer of Jesus Christ, and they see how wonderful you are... They are going
to desire that in their own lives. Staying positive in tough times is also a way
to shine your lights for Jesus. I don't know if the man I'm going to use as an
example is a believer or not, but I admire the man: John Walsh had his own child
murdered in cold blood. Now John Walsh is doing a positive thing by doing things
to teach children how to be safe:
www.TheSafeSide.com. He has also helped put dangerous
criminals behind bars for many years since the incident with his own child:
www.AMW.com. He
has turned his negative into the world's positive. For that we here at
GodsLovingKindness.com send our many thanks. He is being a light in a dark
world.
I do have a feeling that he's following Jesus, but don't quote me. I don't
believe that this scripture is just talking about feeding people with food. I
think it's also talking about feeding the hungry souls. There are hungry souls
that need to hear the Word of God. These souls just don't know what it is
they're lacking. They don't know how to satisfy the hunger. Let's say that
people still got hungry, but hunger didn't kill people. Let's imagine that for a
moment... If you lived for 40 years without ever eating any food, and without
hearing of food: Would you know how to fill that hunger? I don't think so, I
don't think you would even know that you're hungry. I didn't know that I was
spiritually hungry until after I was saved. I began to crave the Word of God,
and I began to crave Christian music... Even the music that I didn't
particularly like at all. I craved it because it was filled with God's Word.
There's a hunger for the Word of God, and it's up to us saints to help the
hungry be filled. Are you ready for the task?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to shine in this dark world. May we help bring many afflicted souls back
to you through your Holy Spirit, and your Word. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
