So Many Questions
Friday's Devotion (2-3-06)
"For what shall it profit a man, if he
shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Mark 8:36 (KJV)
You have to ask yourself a couple of important questions
today. The first question is: Would you give up your dignity, and your respect
for the Lord in order to gain many riches? If someone offered you $20,000,000
would you give up your faith in Jesus Christ for that money? If your answer is
"Yes," then you're not a Christian. Because to be Christian is to be like
Christ, Christ was content. The devil offered Jesus the entire world if Jesus
would only bow down to the devil... Jesus never bowed down to the devil! He only
bowed down to His Father, God. If you're even thinking about giving up Jesus for
personal gain, then you have committed the sin in your heart. You have denied
Jesus, and that means that Jesus will also deny you before the Father. That
means you won't enter into God's Kingdom! Does that scare you at all? If it
does, then good... Because it will make you rethink your answer to my previous
question. You can still be forgiven, but let me ask you again: Would you give up
your faith in Jesus for wealth on earth? Temporary wealth. Are earthly/temporary
riches worth giving up eternal life and peace for? Are they worth eternal
damnation of your soul? Are they worth eternal punishment? I think not. Perhaps
you disagree, but you won't disagree later.
The second important question is this: Those of you that are believers, but you
have yet to discover prosperity... Are you ready for prosperity? If you became
rich today, would you forget Jesus tomorrow? That's my biggest fear about
prospering, because so many fall into that trap. If you haven't obtained all the
blessings of God yet, including physical wealth, that's because you aren't ready
for them! I'm not ready for them just yet. Maybe some of us will never be ready.
If the Lord granted you great riches on earth, would you be a good steward?
Could He trust you with His money to do the right thing? If you had that
$20,000,000 how much of it would you use to help others? These are all very
important questions, but only you and the Lord can answer them! I say that I'd
give most of it away, but once I got it... Would I become greedy?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us not to become greedy ever, but to always put you first in our lives.
Guide us, and make us stronger in the faith. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
