Jesus Wants You!
Tuesday's Devotion (1-31-06)
"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to
thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out
my transgressions." Psalm 51:1 (KJV)
Here you read the words of a king. A king who is willing
to say, "God, even though I'm king of this country... I'm still human, I make
mistakes too, and I'm sorry." In my house tonight, the subject was, "Why can't
people just repent? Why is it so hard to admit to your wrongs and to be sorry?
Why will they choose to be in pain for not repenting?" It doesn't make much
sense does it? It has to be pride. I've heard the saying, "Pride will kill you,"
but my question to you is: Are you going to let Pride destroy your body and
soul? Are you going to let pride send you into eternal punishment? Let go of
your pride.
I've heard people say that they're good people who try to do good things, and
they don't deserve eternal damnation. This is their reason for not repenting.
They're just trying to support their family, and live right. That's great, but
that's not enough. You have to be committed to Jesus, you have to be forgiven of
all your sins. EVEN the secret sins that even you don't know you've committed.
King David also said, "...cleanse thou me from secret faults..." I hate to hear
nice people give me the excuse that they're good people. I hate to hear it
because I don't want to see them go down for their sins. If they only committed
their good deeds to Jesus, and if they only lived for Jesus. Some people think
that it takes time from their family, that's not true either. Jesus loves
families that stick together. Jesus supports spending time with your families,
and loving your families. He just wants you to love Him more, and to commit
yourself to Him. He wants you to confess your sins and be forgiven. I wasn't a
horrible person before I was saved either, but now all the good I do, I do unto
Jesus. I have more reason to do good now. Jesus wants you! Jesus wants you to be
forgiven. He can't accept sin into His Kingdom, so He just wants you to find
forgiveness, so He can accept you! All He wants is a relationship with you. Is
that so bad? There was a time when nobody wanted a relationship with me. I was
too "ugly" on the outside, I was too shy. But Jesus doesn't care about all that,
He looks on your inside. He loves you for you! It was Jesus that brought me into
a relationship with my wife, a relationship filled with true love. If you're one
of people who call yourself a good person... Then think about it: Good people
don't turn down offers of friendship. Jesus wants to be your friend.
If you'd like to accept Jesus Christ today, then please see our, "God's Free
Gift," page. If you have any questions, need any prayer, or need someone to talk
to about anything... just contact us! Notice the keyword, "ANY." No matter what
you need we want to help you. If you have any friends/family that might need to
hear this message, then send them this way. The more the merrier. This is about
our eternity together, this is serious stuff. You can't sweep this under the
rug. You'll always hear someone telling you what I am telling you today, maybe
in way different wording... But there's a reason for it! The reason is because
God loves you, and He's taking the time to call you to Him. He's going to keep
calling you until it's too late, but please don't wait until then to listen. Let
today be your day of redemption, your day to be set free from the bonds you
can't see!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to admit to our wrongs and not to be prideful. Help us to love you and
to have a relationship with you. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
