Be Set Free

Friday's Devotion (1-27-06)

"And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:" Colossians 2:10 (KJV)

What more do you need to hear? You are complete in Him! Some of you are wondering around aimlessly, you don't know where you're going, or what you're missing inside. You're lost. I was lost once, so was every other believer... But now we're found, and we're complete in Him! People don't understand us believers. We get born again, we get baptized, and we get filled with the Holy Ghost, and we're made whole. Once we're whole through the Spirit of God, we just feel like we have to tell others. We have to let them know that they can have hope like us, we have to let them know that they can feel that mysterious void inside. I say "mysterious void," because before we were saved none of us knew why that hole was inside of us. We thought that maybe something was wrong with us, maybe we'd be happier with more money, maybe we need some drugs, or maybe we need lots of sex with lots of different partners. But the truth is that all we need is Jesus in our hearts. What was wrong with us is that we were missing something that we were created for. Grass is made to live in the ground, if you take the ground away from the grass the grass would wither and die. We wither and we die inside without the Lord... Because we were made for Him! Maybe, I sound crazy to someone who is up reading this that hasn't accepted the Lord Jesus yet. But you can sit there with no hope of a cure for your inner emptiness, or you can give Jesus a chance. What really is there to lose?

And we don't want to do that. So, please don't be afraid to confide in us. But before you come to us, go to Jesus. Just call on the Lord right now and ask for forgiveness, and to be filled in the Holy Spirit. Then just tell Him whatever is on your mind. Let it all loose, because God wants you to have an open relationship with Him. That's what this is all about. When you accept Jesus you aren't accepting a religion, you're accepting a friend and a mentor, and so much more.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Father please do your will with us, let us be your children, and let us be pleasing to you. Fill the void in our hearts, and draw us closer to you. In Jesus name. A-men!
