Listen & Prosper!

Saturday's Devotion (1-21-06)

"But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil." Proverbs 1:33 (KJV)

Announcement: Things are getting busier around here. Krista is going to school, and I'm going to be seeking a job with my new career diplomat. We could use your prayers for a car, but.... The announcement is that there will be more days where there is no new devotions. I'm probably not going to be doing this everyday, but I will certainly try to have a devotion up everyday. You can always refer to the Devotion Archives on the days that we don't have a new one up. Thank you for your continued support for us. Now, let's get onto today's devotion...

This is an awesome verse from Proverbs, and it's so true. If we listen and obey the Lord, then we don't have to worry about evil coming against us. I've been listening to the Lord more lately, at least I believe I have. Anyway, things have certainly been coming together more lately for me. I listened to the Lord when He told me to write a song for a Christian wrestling promotion, when I had no idea that they'd even look at it... What happened? If everything works out, they're recording the song on Monday! They loved it! Probably, just last year if the Lord would've told me to write something for a business that doesn't even know of me... I wouldn't of listened. I would've thought, "It's just my head talking, it would never work!" What would happen? I wouldn't prosper! I wouldn't get any where.

My point? My point is that if we listen to God, we aren't only free from fear... But we're free from want! We're free from poverty. We're free from spiritual chains that we can't see. We're free from the curses that come along with being a sinner! It's time to listen for God's voice! If God is tugging at your heart to do something, or not to do something, then you better listen! If you do, you'll be blessed! God tells us what to do for our own good! God doesn't boss us around to be mean, he gives us orders so that we may become something great. He wants us to prosper. He wants us to achieve in life! It doesn't matter who you are, if you listen to God then you will achieve and prosper!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to obey every word that you put in our hearts, and every word in the Bible. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
