Bear Good Fruit (Give It A Try!)

Saturday's Devotion (4-16-05)

"Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." John 15:8 (KJV)

Lots of people say, "I'm righteous of God," but they bear no fruit. Of course salvation doesn't come with works, but it is our works that show our fruit. When we show our good fruit, then people bear witness that we are of God. If we do nothing, and act like people of the world... then we're not bearing that fruit. We must bear that good fruit. Jesus approached a tree, it was a tree that was supposed to have fruit. It didn't have any fruit, so he cursed it. After he had cursed it, it withered away and died. He did that, because it had no fruit. The same will happen to us, if we do not bear fruit!

How can you bear fruit? You have to pray daily, you have to study God's Word (The Bible.) God's Word is alive! It is able to transform you. It is able to mold you. I remember how fast I changed with it. Before I read the Bible, I was doing things that I thought God wouldn't mind. After getting into the Bible, I started changing and rejecting evil. I remember distinctly a moment of victory. This moment will show you how fast a transformation came: I lied to a company to get a refund check in the mail. Time the check got to my home, I didn't want it. I ripped it up, and flushed it. That's how fast God's Word can work! Give it a try!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to bear good fruit. Bring us closer to you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
