Don't Make Abortion An Option!

Friday's Devotion (4-15-05)

"They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless." Psalm 94:6 (KJV)

Today's topic is abortion. I thought of abortion yesterday, and I also recalled a movie. It was a Chris Farley movie. I don't remember the name, but in one part he had to go get an eagle's egg. Whenever he climbed up there, and put his hand in the nest... The eagle came swooping down, and she was mad! She protected her children, even before the eggs hatched. Pretty much all animals are this way. So, naturally when I thought of abortion... I thought, "Are we then worse than animals?" I thought, "How can our country support murder? How can we cry, 'Bring home the troops!' when we're murdering children in the womb, right at home?" We must stop supporting abortions! We must take action, and raise awareness. How can we raise awareness to secular people? Tell them the facts:

"An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health." -Planned Parenthood 'Plan Your Children' pamphlet, 1963.

"Uterine bleeding occurred on the second or third day after RU486 intake in 1256 women (88.8 percent), and lasted 11.7 +/- 6.4 (SD) days, range 2-55 days. One subject had blood transfusions due to excessive bleeding." -Shangchun, W., et al., Contraception.

"Prolonged bleeding/spotting lasting more than two weeks had been found in more than 20 percent of women who had complete abortion in this study [of RU486]." --Shangchun, W., et al., Contraception.

African American women who have had abortions are 4.7 times more likely to get breast cancer. -- Laing AE, et al.Breast Cancer Risk Factors in African American Women: The Howard University Tumor Registry Experience. Similar studies have supported this among women of other races, such as "Risk of Breast Cancer Among Young Women: Relationship to Induced Abortion" by Janet Darling, et al. in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute

A survey was conducted of 1900 women who had had abortions. The survey asked "Were there any negative psychological effects... [caused] by your abortion?" 94% answered "Yes." 2% answered "No."

Another study was conducted by Dr. Anne Speckhard at the
University of Minnesota. She concluded, "After 5-10 years 54% of mothers choosing abortion had nightmares, 81% had preoccupation with their aborted child, 35% had perceived visitations with their child, and 96% felt they had taken a human life.

39000 women who have had an abortion are members of NARAL.

245000 women who have had abortions are members of National Right to Life.

The facts clearly show us that abortion, is wrong. Let's look at Eve in the Bible, when she persuaded Adam to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil... there was a price to pay for that bad work. All women including Eve, had to go through birth pains. There is a price for every bad work, and a reward for every good one!

I know people who've had abortions. They do it at a vulnerable time. They abort, and they really are confused at the time they do it. They don't fully understand what they're doing. As time goes on, they feel the pain. It feels like a part of them is missing. It's a horrible feeling. Since my dad died, it has felt like a part of me is missing. Imagine putting your own child to death, wouldn't you feel empty? Wouldn't you feel like something is missing? Yesterday, I was reminded of what it's like to have a new born baby around. They're so precious. They're too precious to be destroyed. If you don't want children, then be responsible and don't create a child! I remember when my sister was pregnant with first child. She considered abortion. I told her, "You want to do the work to get pregnant, but not take the responsibility of your actions!" She didn't get the abortion, and we were all blessed with a wonderful child. If you do get pregnant, and don't want the child... consider adoption. There are people out there who would love to be blessed. Don't make abortion an option!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to make the right choices, choices for life. May abortion no longer be an option. In Jesus name. A-men!
