Death Will Not Defeat You!
Wednesday's Devotion (4-13-05)
"We are confident, [I say], and willing
rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2
Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)
First off, let me apologize for all the days I've missed
lately. A lot has been going on. On top of everything that's been going on, a
friend died the other day. I've known her for about 4-5 years. Some of you may
even know her. She was popular on the Paltalk program. She went by 1Spunhoney or
Spunhoney1. Her real name was Caroline Mullens. She had some books out. She was
the first person to ever really minister to me. So, it's kind of hard...
Which brings me to today's devotion. It's good to remind ourselves when we lose
a brother or sister in Christ, that they're with the Lord. This scripture has
been there for me: When my grandmother died, when my dad died, when I got older
and started missing my brother, and now it's here for the death of Caroline. It
makes things a lot easier on me. Because I know that these people are resting in
the arms of the Lord. I miss them dearly, but it is better for them. I have to
think about it in the positive light, or else I'll go insane. The people I
named, are only a few of the people I've lost. If you've never lost someone you
loved, then you can't know the feeling. It's horrible, but know this: The day
comes when we all must go. With that in mind, tell your loved ones about the
Lord... That way if you lose them, you can have the peace of knowing where they
are. You can only be saved through Jesus Christ.
Caroline was 63 years old. She had one bad asthma attack. While the ambulance
was on it's way, she had a massive heart attack. They tried to revive her for 41
minutes to no avail. You can imagine how unexpected this death came. It can come
just as unexpected, or even more unexpected to anyone of us. The question is:
Are you ready, are you dressed with the Lord Jesus Christ when death knocks on
your door? Every few seconds people die without Christ. Are you going to be one
of the poor souls that aren't ready, when death knocks at the door? I hope not.
The Lord is knocking at the door right now, open it and let Him in. That way
when death comes, it will not defeat you! If you'd like to be saved by the Lord,
please visit the "God's Free Gift" page. You'll find it on the side panel of the
website. It'll give you more information on what to do.
Like I said, it's been a tough time lately. Please keep us in your prayers. Pray
for our strength, and pray that our ministry would continue to blossom and grow.
Thank you!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please help us to be ready for the day death knocks. We pray that you'd comfort
the people who've lost loved ones. Also, bless the walks of the new believers
and of the old. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
