Faith As Little Children
Sunday's Devotion (4-10-05)
"Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not
receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." Mark
10:15 (KJV)
Some of you might think that this scripture means, if you
don't accept the Lord when you're a child, you can't be saved. That's not the
case. It doesn't matter if you're 150 years old, you can still be saved and
receive the Kingdom of God as a little child. It means you have to accept God as
your Father, it means you have to have the faith of a little child. When a dad
tells their small child something, that child believes it. The child believes
it, no matter how crazy it may sound. Some of us don't believe all of the
scriptures, but they are true. Some have a hard time with the times animals
talked in scripture. If it's doesn't sound believable to the people of this day,
and age, then many of you refuse to believe it. That's not being, "As a little
child." Children believe in Santa Clause even though he can't be seen. We must
believe in God, even though He can't be seen. The only difference between us and
little children, is that our belief in God is real. It's not some false hope
like Santa Clause, or the Easter Bunny. God has proven Himself to us.
If you're not accepting the Kingdom as a child, then you can't enter in! Why?
Because your faith is small. Instead of believing everything, you question
everything. You are saved by faith. This is very hard for some, but you just
need to deny yourself. Say, "It may be hard for my mind to understand, but I
believe!"
Just because we're to accept the Kingdom of God, as little children... Doesn't
mean we're to act like children. Some of us act very immature. There is a
balance in this. We're to believe as children, not act like children.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please help us to have faith as little children. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
