Go!

Sunday's Devotion (4-3-05)

"For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." Deuteronomy 20:4 (KJV)

Notice the part in this scripture, that says, "...the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you..." It doesn't say that the Lord fights with us, it says that the Lord fights for us! He fights in our place, so we don't have to. The Lord goes with us, but fights for us! All you have to do is go and He'll do the rest. So many of us don't even go. We just sit around and expect things to go well. I'm guilty of it, just as much as you are. The Lord tells us to go, but we stay home. We lose the battle and wonder why. If we had only stepped out in faith and went to the battle, then the Lord would've fought it. King David stepped up to the Giant Goliath before David was ever king. He stepped up to the battle, the battle that everyone else was afraid of. He trusted God, and really God won that battle for him! I don't believe that many of us realize the size of Goliath. Goliath wasn't like today's big men. He was way bigger than 7 feet 400 pounds. This Goliath was a real monster, a real giant. He could've destroyed the entire village. Then here comes David with faith that's bigger than himself. With faith that's bigger than Goliath! That's what we need.

We sit at home and we complain: "Things should be ran this way. That should be done that way," but we do nothing to change anything. All we have to do is pray, and then go where the Lord sends us. Instead we sit at home. Don't you hate it, when you're doing a bunch of hard work and some lazy person says, "You're doing it wrong, do it right!" They tell you to do it right, but they do nothing. Don't you just hate that? I do, but right now... I feel like that lazy person. Do you? It's time to change that! It's time to go where the Lord sends us!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins, and we forgive those who've wronged us. Please help us to go where you send us, and help us to allow you to fight our battles. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
