The Holy Spirit

Thursday's Devotion (3-31-05)

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." Romans 8:9 (KJV)

We have two new Bible studies up. One of them is all about the Holy Spirit, check those out. Thanks goes out to the person who donated them to us for use.

I got a bit upset yesterday, it was just one of those days. One of those days, where it's dangerous to put me in front of a keyboard. The feelings inside weren't led by the Holy Spirit, if you know what I mean. Which brings me to a point: Can you believe that some people believe that we don't need the Holy Spirit to be saved? How can one honestly believe that? I need the Holy Spirit, or else I'd go insane without Him! The Holy Spirit is what drives us to do good, He is the one that gives us faith, and He is the one that comforts us. He does so much more than that too. As the study submitted to us today said, "The Holy Spirit is the gift that keeps on giving!" It's the most important gift. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of The Son of God. With it we are made sons and daughters of the most high. This scripture says that without it, we do not belong to the Lord! Without the Holy Spirit, we can't be saved!

I hear you all now, "But what if I don't have the Spirit?" Don't worry. If you didn't have the Holy Spirit with you, then you wouldn't even care about salvation. You would be completely cold, you wouldn't even care about good works for the Lord. As I said, "The Holy Spirit is what drives us to do good works, He is the one that gives us faith, comforts us and etc." What you can do to assure yourself is ask for the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that if we ask for the Holy Spirit, then God will give it. All you have to do is be baptized and ask for the Holy Spirit! Be sure to check out those studies, and don't think for a second that you don't need the Holy Spirit! You do, I do, we all do! To be perfectly honest, I'm honored to have that same Spirit that lives in Christ, living in me!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please fill us with your Spirit and let us live as people with the Holy Spirit! Let us listen to and obey His every word. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board or in our Guestbook.
