The Power of Praise!

Tuesday's Devotion (3-29-05)

"Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious." Psalms 66:1-2 (KJV)

Yesterday we talked about prayer, especially prayer for Terri Schavio. Today, we're going to praise God for an answer to those prayers. "Praise God? She's healed?" you ask. No, she's not healed yet. She's still in the state of starvation, but when you praise God for an answer before you get it, that's faith! That's faith and you will get the answer you need. God is worthy of our praise. God is able to heal, we just have to believe. Start singing those praises people, today could be the day! Imagine the testimony that would be to the whole world, if Terri were healed. All eyes are locked on her and her story. I believe it's God's will for her healing. I don't believe it's God's will for her to die like this! All the lands will be praising God when Terri is healed, but we will praise Him here and now... because we believe!

Praise is a another powerful tool. We talked about the power of prayer, now let's talk about the power of praise! There was a war that Israel was in. You know what God told them to do in the midst of the war? To sing praises to Him! They were reluctant, but they did it. You know what? God was their protection and they won! All they had to do was sing and walk around some wall. That's it. That was a great show of faith. I mean, would you listen and sing praise in a war instead of fight? That's a great step of faith! God loves being praised and he rewards them that praise Him with their hearts.

I'm going to have one last word on Terri Schavio. Some of you may say, "She's suffering, let her die." We as Christians are not killers, we're healers. We believe that people can and will be healed, we are also given the power to heal them! Lazarus was dead in his tomb, Jesus came and raised Him from the dead. He didn't just let him die! Jesus healed many people, He didn't let them die. We are the light of the world, like Jesus was. We need to show the miracles and healing power of God! It's time that we witness a miracle. God knows that our country needs it.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please show us your healing power and heal Terri. Let our country witness a miracle and know in their hearts that it is you. We're believing and waiting and praising you for your answer. We know that we don't need the President to intervene, we don't need Jeb Bush, we need Jesus! In Jesus name. A-men!
