WE ARE SECURE IN CHRIST!

Friday's Devotion (3-25-05)

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" Numbers 23:19 (KJV)

Have you ever questioned something that God personally promised you, or something written in His Word? I have and you know what that's called? That's calling God a liar. If God says He will bless you if you help others, then believe it and help others. If God says that He will destroy you if you don't repent from your sin, then you better repent from your sin. If there's one thing you can be sure of about God, it's the fact that once He speaks... it's as good as done! Some of you are saying, "But God's Word says this and it never happened for me!" You know what? God's Word is like a contract between us, and in that contract there are stipulations: Most of the blessings require faith, well all of them do. If you're not receiving one or more of God's promises, then that means you're not doing your part! Want to feed your family and still have something left to get some clothes? Do you know what that means? That means you have to have faith and you have to give to someone else in need! Want long life on earth? You know what that means? It means: Honor thy father and honor thy mother! Look for the parts in the Bible that say, "If you," a lot of the times it is some where around the promise made.

Now the question arises, "Why does God require me to do something to get something?" It's all about faith. God wants you to believe and trust in Him. If you can't do that for Him, then you don't have a true love for Him. God created us some-what like Him... we all want and need to be loved. We want people to trust us and often we deserve that trust, but we don't get it. Have you ever had a spouse that blamed you for cheating on them, but you never did and never would? How did or how would that make you feel? Think about that. Done? Now imagine God, the most holy and honest and honorable being there is. How is He going to feel when people don't trust Him? What did He ever do to be untrusted? NOTHING! He has done everything to be trusted! Most of our doubts come from our own insecurities, but what we need to realize is that WE ARE SECURE IN CHRIST!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to feel secure in your arms. Help us to trust in you, because you deserve our trust. You are no liar! Also, make us people that can be trusted. Bless us, but first make us a blessing. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
