ARE YOU READY?

Friday's Devotion (3-18-05)

"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." Revelation 16:15 (KJV)

The Lord Jesus Christ, is going to come back and take His people. He's coming on a day that none of us know. The question is: If Christ was to come tomorrow or even right this moment, would you be ready? He's coming back like a thief in the night. Why? The reason is because, if you knew when He was coming... then you would live a sinful and shameful life, until the very last moment. You would only be ready when you had to be ready. That's just the way sinful human beings are. We'll do things right, when it's convenient for us to do it. It's like a kid who has the house to himself for a few hours. He does what he wants to do in the house, until it's almost time for his parents to return. When it's almost time for his parents to return, then he cleans the house up and gets rid of any people or bad things. This is how it would be, if we knew when Christ was coming back. This is also how some of you are living, believing that Christ isn't returning in your life time, and that you can get right before you die. Before I was born, my dad was riding his motorcycle one day as usual. A car hit him from behind, knocking him into a concrete barrier. He walked away with permanent brain damage, but everyone was shocked that he didn't die. When he finally did die, he died in his sleep. He survived a horrible wreck, then 20 years later dies in his sleep. Death comes just as quickly, just as unpredictable as the return of Christ. Again the question is: Are you ready to meet your maker?

I'm doing a bit more advertising for this site. I expect that not everyone who is visiting here is going to be already saved. You may not be saved yet, but I hope that you asked yourself the question of the day: Are you ready to die? Are you ready for the return of Christ? If you haven't accepted Christ, then the answer is, "No!" The Bible teaches us that the only road to salvation is through Christ Jesus. No matter how good you live or how hard you try, if you don't have Jesus then you don't have salvation. You don't have eternal life, if you don't have Christ. When thinking about accepting the Lord, you have to consider a few things: You don't want to suffer for eternity, you want peace and joy, you want the best for your family and friends too. I know that I don't want any of my friends or family, or even strangers to receive the great damnation. I want everyone to be saved and everyone to have a good life, and I bet most of you do too! You can help others, by helping yourself! Let Jesus into your heart today. For more details and a prayer for salvation, please see our, "God's Free Gift" page. If you need us to say a prayer for you, then use our prayer request form. I hope that after today, you'll be able to say, "I'm ready!"

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to be ready to meet you, whether it be by death or by your return. Bless the walks of all new followers and of those that are seeking a closer relationship with you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
