Thank You Lord! (Speak It & Show It!)

Thursday's Devotion (3-10-05)

"Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises." Psalm 47:6 (KJV)

Finally, the Praise Page, that I've been talking about for awhile is back! Look under the interactive section for that. I have four songs that I've co-written there, and I'd be happy for anyone to request them for their church, etc.

Why do we praise God? Why do we need to praise the Lord? Praise is pretty much the same thing as giving thanks. When you say, "Lord, thank you for all that you have given me," that is a form of praise. If you don't give praise, then you're not appreciative towards the Lord. Some of you saved people out there, don't praise enough. You actually do the opposite, you moan and complain about what you don't have! You don't look at what you do have. This is why you don't have more than you do, because you don't appreciate what you have! If you read about the days of Moses and the forty years in the wilderness, then you'll see that not one complainer made it to the promised land! Why? Their complaining was a sign of being unappreciative, the Lord delivered them from Egypt! What did they say? They said, "We were better off in Egypt!" It's also lack of faith. The people that the Lord delivered from Egypt, seen all of the miracles that the Lord did. They seen the Lord save them from Egypt, but they failed to believe that the Lord would deliver them from the wilderness. Did the Lord bring you to it, to let you die in it? The Lord is faithful. If you believe that the Lord is faithful in all things, then you will speak it and that kind of speaking... is praise! If you praise then you show faith, and if you show faith then you get results!

Which brings me to another topic. Some people take what I just said, to an extreme. They'll say, "I have faith, because I speak it! I love God, because I speak it!" The result of our lips should be from our heart. We should be praising God with our hearts, and not just with our mouths. Anyone can say, "I believe that the Lord will deliver me from poverty," but do they believe it? You might say, "Well, if they say it, then they must believe it!" No! That kind of thinking is very shallow to say the least. Some people who say, "I believe that the Lord will deliver me from poverty," will do something that says they don't believe. If the Lord, will deliver you from poverty, then why are you: Stealing, selling drugs or even selling your own bodies? The answer is simply, lack of faith! You have to show the faith that you speak with your actions. I've prayed to the Lord for the success of my music, I show my belief by investing time and money into that music. If I didn't believe, then I would say, "No, I'm not going to waste time or money." I'm poor, I don't have money to waste. That's an example of faith in my own life. What's your example? We should all have more than one example too. It doesn't matter where you're at in life, the Lord has given you an opportunity to step out in faith! If you trust Him, then you'll do it and you won't complain while you're waiting for the result! Praise the Lord today for your result, even if you haven't received it yet. The keyword is, "yet" because if you believe, you will receive! Just stop and say, "Thank you Lord," right now. It'll mean a lot to Him.

If you'll take the time and post in our guestbook about my songs, I'd appreciate that. Remember that they're demos and not ready for radio or anything. We put a lot into getting these together, and we're still not done until these songs are being sung around the world. We're believing that the Lord didn't have us make these tunes for nothing. I hope you all enjoy them, but please give us some honest feed back. Thank you! Most of all thanks to the Lord for letting us get this far, and for the finished result that we're waiting patiently for.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to trust in you and to thank and praise you, even when we don't feel like it. We know that you are worthy of all our praise, no one else is. You are a great God! In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board or in our Guestbook.
