Everlasting Love For You!

Tuesday's Devotion (2-22-05)

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)

If you come here often, then you'll know that this is one of the scriptures that we base the theme of our site off of. You can see why. It's so amazing. Some people have been married for 50 years and they get tired of their spouses, or people get tired of old friends. You might say, "Well, they have reason to get tired of them probably." Maybe that's true, but the Lord has so many reasons to get tired of us, but He never does! God knew our names before the earth was framed, and He loved us then. The Lord has loved us, forever! I don't know how He does it, but His love is perfect. I'd be tired of me. What am I getting to with this? Some of you feel like God has forsaken you, or that God is tired of you. He's not... God's love is undying and unchanging! You're not the first one to feel this way, people have in the past and they will again. The thing is that all these peoples' feelings were proven wrong! You're feelings won't be any different! God loves you... with an everlasting love! I don't care who you are, or what you've done, He loves you! Speak it out loud, "God loves me!"

Feel better? I hope so. In the past, I have actually felt like the only one God would ever forsake. I really felt that special, I felt like I was the only one God ever just said, "I'm done with you, you can't ever come back!" He didn't even say those words to me, but I felt like it. I must really be something, to be the only one in thousands of years to have that happen. The truth is that I'm no more special than you are and God has never forsaken me, even though I have felt like it. The truth is that God doesn't forsake people, people forsake God! God doesn't stop loving people, people stop loving God! The question is: How can we stop loving this God, who has so much love for us? As a symbol and as proof of God's undying love for us, Jesus was sent to die for us. This is the Son of God we're talking about. Some people say, "Wasn't there another way." If there was any other way other than the death and resurrection of Christ, then imagine this if you will: As much as you doubt and as much as you feel forsaken now, after Christ died for you... how much more doubt and unassurance would you have if another way was taken to bring you salvation? The bottom-line is that if you've accepted Christ, you are saved and there is no other way to salvation! God loves you and He has proven it, time and time again!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to be assured of your love. Put our hearts at peace in your perfect, undying love. Draw us closer to you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
