False Prophets
Friday's Devotion (2-18-05)
"If any man think himself to be a prophet,
or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the
commandments of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 14:37 (KJV)
I see a lot of people who act spiritual or say that
they're prophets, but they don't teach us the same things that the Bible does.
They teach against the scriptures, acting like they're teaching the scriptures
or "new" words of God. Many people believe and follow these, "Prophets" This is
a very dangerous situation we're facing. If you know the scriptures, then you'll
be able to point out a false prophet from a mile away. That's the sad thing, the
sad thing is that if people knew the Bible and knew God, then they wouldn't be
being deceived millions at a time! I've ran into a few false prophets and false
ministers. I've seen them on television, I've ran into them on the internet...
some even came here to this site. You need to check yourself, are you in danger
of deception? You are if you don't know the Bible! I can see some of you
panicking now, "I don't know the Bible, what am I going to do?" What you're
going to do is stop being spiritually lazy and you're going to start reading the
Bible today! Stop putting it off!
Don't get me wrong, there are real prophets and there are real spiritual people.
We just have to know which ones are which. A prophet's words or a spiritual
person's words will not go against the words of the Bible! That is the first
thing we must know. The second thing we need to know is that their lifestyle for
the most part will not go against the Bible either. We have one prophesy
ministry on our "Links" page. I actually enjoy reading the newsletter they send
me and I haven't found anything wrong with them. I'll admit though, when I first
met these people and we were going to exchange links, I was leery. I looked over
their site good. I believe in being very careful about what I put in front of my
viewers. I believe that this prophecy ministry is right on and I recommend our
viewers to check them out. However, the strongest thing that I can recommend for
you all is the Bible! That is what we all need.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Help us to never be deceived, help us by helping us to know your Word! Help us
to be right with you. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
message board or in our
Guestbook.
