He'll Get You Through!

Tuesday's Devotion (2-15-05)

"The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth." Psalm 37:21 (KJV)

This is why it's a sin to owe money to bill collectors, and etc. I believe that it's really only a sin if you didn't know you wouldn't be able to repay, or if you can repay and choose not to. If we owe and have the funds to repay, then we should pay back our debts. Owing people and not repaying will hinder the blessings that belong to us! It will keep you from receiving blessings. We owe bill collectors ourselves, but we're trying to get on our feet to pay them back. Some of them don't understand that we're so poor and they will get mean with us. It makes us not want to pay them back, but we know that it is our duty to God when we get the funds! We're not going to reward their evil against us with more evil against them.

We really shouldn't be borrowers, but we should be givers. We should be giving to others and when we do, God sees this as us giving Him a loan and God repays us... with interest! You can do something really small to help someone out and God will repay you with a big blessing! That's just the way He is. If you want to receive, then you need to give. I see a blessing in the works for myself and my wife. I really feel like we're close to getting a big break. What makes it so great is that I'll be able to do God's work, and receive a reward for the work that I love.

Even though I said that we shouldn't borrow, that isn't true for every situation. You might be in need and someone will just offer money to you. One time one of my mother-in-law's friends, said, "I have a feeling that you need this money, here take it." This wasn't someone who offers that kind of thing either, and she didn't even mention we were in need. Now, I believe that was a God send, but we were obligated to repay. Just don't be a beggar, have some faith in God! If you have faith in Christ, He'll get you through!

Lastly, but not least important is this: You should never give to receive in return. If you give it should be out of the goodness of your heart, to please God and to help others. Don't try to play God like a poker table, "I bet $500, c'mon big money!"

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to pay back the people that we owe and to not be beggars, but have faith in you. Help us not to worry, but to give and have faith that you will repay us. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
