Get Back On Track!

Monday's Devotion (2-14-05)

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Luke 12:34 (KJV)

This scripture is a really good word of wisdom. Our treasures should be in Heaven and not on earth. Our bodies our on earth, but our hearts should be in Heaven. You have to be careful that the thing you love the most is Christ, and nothing or no one else. Some of you are married and you treasure your spouse, some even treasure them more than Christ. That's a dangerous place to be, because you wouldn't be willing to give them up for Christ. Look at Abraham, he loved the child that he waited so long to receive, but he loved God more. When God said, "Abraham, sacrifice the child upon an altar." Abraham was more than willing, because his heart was with God. Before you go thinking that God is cruel, let me tell the rest of the story. Abraham, was just about to sacrifice the child that he had been waiting for, when an angel of the Lord came and told him not to. It was all a test to see where Abraham's loyalty stood, Abraham passed that test. Will you pass the test?

Some people's hearts are with money or drugs. If your heart is with anything other than God, then you will be willing to do things against God, for the sake of the thing that holds the key to your heart. If your heart is with God, then you will do what's necessary to be with God. People whose hearts are with money or drugs are out on the streets selling their bodies, to get more. People whose hearts are with God, are doing the right thing and trusting the Lord to provide for them.

Is there something that holds the key to your heart, other than Jesus Christ? If so, then pray hard and give your heart to the Lord. If you can't come to grips with having the other thing in your life and putting God first, then you need to eliminate the other thing from your life. If it's a bad thing, you'll need to eliminate it anyway. When I say, "eliminate" I don't mean to cause any harm to a person, but if it's a person who is holding the key to your heart, then you need time away from them. You need to get back on track with Christ!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to put you first in our lives and may our treasures be in Heaven. Bring us closer to you and guide us in your path. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
