Do You Have Patience?
Saturday's Devotion (2-12-05)
"For ye have need of patience, that, after
ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise." Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)
Patience is something that we all need, if we want to
receive the promise of God. As I said before, our God is a God that doesn't have
boundaries of time. With that in mind, we must realize that we're going to need
lots of patience to be a follower of Christ. So many people are doing the will
of God and they say, "Where is my reward?" Be patient, know that it is coming,
you just have to wait for it! People pray and say, "Where is the answer to my
prayer?" Be patient and wait! I've only had one prayer I believe, that was
answered immediately. The other prayers I had to wait for an answer. The prayer
that was answered immediately, was a prayer for healing in my stomach. Jesus
healed people immediately. I believe that most healing prayers are immediate if
you believe, but others aren't immediate. Look at Job, bad health got a hold of
him and he had to wait for deliverance! It all depends, sometimes we need to go
through a longer trial to improve us and other times we just need to have faith
for a moment. The bottom-line is to keep the faith through it all, and the only
way to do this is with patience! God will answer your prayers in due time! It's
in His time, not yours!
It is hard to be patient. I had to be patient on getting visitors to this site.
I started off on a little forum where people would come in and out all the time.
I closed that forum down and moved here, but I found out that having a domain
doesn't mean instant traffic. I had to promote my site and it seemed like a
downgrade... It seemed like I had more people on my old forum. Now, I have like
five times the amount of people that the forum brought in. I prayed for growth
and I moved up to this site and it seemed like the opposite of an answered
prayer at first, but it ended up being the answered prayer in the final result
and God, isn't done yet!
How can you get patience? What better way than pray? This prayer should have a
warning label on it, though. When you pray for patience, be ready to go through
what it takes to get it. When you pray for patience, you're going to find out
that God, doesn't just hand us the things we need... He makes us attain it the
old fashioned way. When you pray for patience, you're going to go through a lot
of trials and tribulation. You're going to have to learn the art of being
patient, it's not going to be handed to you! If it was handed to you, you
couldn't appreciate it! Is this prayer worth it? Judging by the times we're
living in, I'd say that it's worth praying for patience! I need patience just
going to the grocery store and dealing with all those people. Do you have
patience? If you don't know then ask the people around you, I'm sure they know!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please help us to be patient people and bring us closer to you. In Jesus, name.
A-men!
God bless!
