Greater Faith!
Thursday's Devotion (2-10-05)
"And many other signs truly did Jesus in
the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are
written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and
that believing ye might have life through his name." John 20:30-31 (KJV)
I'm on the, "Read your Bible!" subject yet again! We are
saved by faith, like I was saying yesterday and like the Bible has told us for
centuries. Jesus performed a lot of miracles in the Bible, but this scripture
says that not all of them were written in the Bible. Another verse says,
"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should
be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the
books that should be written. Amen." That was John 21:25 (KJV).
That's a lot of stuff that Christ did! Some people would love to just hear a
little bit of what Christ did, but others have the ability through the Bible and
they neglect that ability. Some of you are without faith, your Bibles are
sitting in the closet and the only thing growing with the Bible is the dust on
top. You need the Bible for greater faith and a closer relationship with Christ!
What you have in your closets is what someone else would dream to have! That's a
really strong thing to say, because there are people in other countries going
through great trials, persecution and tribulation. These people need the Bible
more than any of us, but here we are with two or three Bibles in our closet and
we don't even remember that they're there! Read those Bibles, because if you
don't want to then someone else will gladly take them!
The Bible is a faith builder, but that isn't all that it is. When our faith is
built up, then so is our walks with Christ. We become closer to Him. When we
know the scriptures, it's like we can know God. People who never read the Bible
and who do things that God, wouldn't approve of say, "I know God!" They don't
know God! The only way we can truly know God (As much as a human can.) is
through the Bible!
Let's try this again, it's about that time. I never get any response from
this... who knows maybe you all read the Bible already. Anyway, if you don't
read the Bible then you're being challenged to start now! Try reading the Bible
for just one week, I believe that is enough to change you! I believe that is
enough to make you see that you need the Bible and you won't stop reading after
that! If you'll take the challenge then sign our guestbook and tell us you're
going to do it! If you already read your Bible daily, then sign our guestbook
and testify to others about all the good things it has done for you!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please help us to know you and to be closer to you through your Word. Give us
great faith. We also pray that you give those who take this challenge the wisdom
to understand your Word and also make the change in them. Show them that they
need your Word. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
message board or in our
Guestbook.
