Receive Mercy On Judgment Day!

Sunday's Devotion (1-30-05)

"For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment." James 2:13 (KJV)

When it's your time to be judged by the Lord, if you want mercy then you better be giving mercy to others here on earth, while you're alive. If you give no mercy to others, then the Lord, will give you no mercy on Judgment Day. How can you give mercy to others? Is a question you might be asking and the answer is pretty simple: When's the last time a poor man approached you in need of something? Did you turn him away or did you show mercy and give him the things he needed? Imagine Judgment Day and imagine yourself as a poor man before God, who is rich and able to give all that you need: You approach the Lord, saying, "Lord, please let me enter into your Kingdom!", but the Lord, says, "I will show mercy to those who gave mercy and you have given none!". Notice your situation now and where your actions will lead you to... it's better to think about this now then find out later that you aren't entering into God's Kingdom. There's still time to change, but the question is, will you?

When you do something for other people on earth, it's like you're doing it for the Lord. Have you ever had someone show you mercy in your time of need and then later on they needed the favor returned? When that wonderful person who showed you mercy before, needed the same favor... it's awfully hard to turn them down, isn't it? You can't tell them, "No" can you? Well, when you help others then you are doing that for the Lord and the Lord, will remember your generosity and your mercy.

Note: Remember even though we talked about all this today, the most important work you can do is have faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved by faith, but faith without works is dead! If you have faith in Jesus Christ, then you will do as He commands you! If Jesus, tells you, "Step out into the street and preach the gospel!" and you don't do it because you're afraid a car will run you over then you don't have faith in Jesus Christ. The work is a living sign of your faith.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to have mercy upon others and to have faith in you. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
