Don't Blame God, Blame Yourself!
Tuesday's Devotion (1-25-05)
"When the poor and needy seek water, and
there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I
the God of Israel will not forsake them." Isaiah 41:17 (KJV)
There's a question that plagues the world: How can a God,
who loves us let us suffer and be without? That is the question of the world,
but God, could ask you all a question too: "Why haven't you called upon me?".
Everyone wants things to be great, but they don't call upon and trust God for
those things, but when those things don't come they then blame God. I have a
personal relationship with my music promoter and I expect him to do his job for
me, but if I don't stay in touch with him and keep him up then when things fail,
I am the only one to blame. Everyone expects something, but no one wants to give
to receive. All the Lord, wants from you is some of your time and for you to
confide in Him. You have to allow Jesus, to be in your life and if you don't...
then don't expect anything! Expecting something from a God, that you haven't
allowed and welcomed in your life and haven't asked anything of is like
expecting water to come out of a sink when you haven't paid the water bill.
A lot of you are in need right now and you just don't know what to do. You're
sitting there thinking of all the things that you can do and you're seeing that
there is nothing that you can do. You might feel pretty hopeless, but there is
hope... The hope isn't in what you can do, but what God, can do for you! The
only thing that you have to do is call upon God and believe that He will come
through for you! That's pretty simple, so with that in mind if you fail to
follow these directions and fail to receive what you need from God, then don't
blame God... blame yourself! The last part of this scripture says, "...I the
LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.". The thing is
that God, first needs to hear from you, He needs to hear from your mouth that
you want and need His help. Another problem is that people only call upon God,
when they're in need and not any other time... they don't have a personal
relationship with Christ. They're users and they're just trying to get over on
God, but that's a whole different topic I guess.
Need something? Then ask God, for it!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things.
Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us.
Please provide for us those things that we need and help us to be dependant on
you and not ourselves. Help us to have close and personal relationships with
you. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
message board or in our
Guestbook.
