Accept Instruction (Knowledge)

Tuesday's Devotion (1-11-05)

"Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish." Proverbs 12:1 (KJV)

At times we can be haters of instruction or reproof. It is brutish or stupid of us to hate instruction and reproof because with instruction also comes knowledge and if you hate reproof you are brutish (Dumb). How many of you have had to do something and someone told you, you were doing it wrong and you didn't listen and something bad happened? Being prideful and brutish will do that to you every time. It has happened to me and I am still stupid enough to let it happen again sometimes.

We need to learn from instructions and even from our own mistakes. I remember growing up that I didn't have the best instructions to follow. My dad was brain damaged and my mother worked a lot. I kind of learned off of their mistakes. You don't really need good instruction to have good instruction, you can learn off the mistakes of others and even your own mistakes. If you walk in front of a car and get hit, then you should learn not to do it again, right? God, often sends us clear cut messages like that, but yet we still fail to learn from His instruction/reproof. Open your eyes and learn His instruction. Open the Bible and learn it too! That is the most important thing you can do for knowledge is read the Bible. God, gives you instruction because He loves you and doesn't want to see you suffer.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to accept instruction and reproof. Bring us closer to you and make us wise children. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
