Find Peace With Others & Yourself!
Wednesday's Devotion (4-7-04)
"When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." Proverbs 16:7 (KJV)
This scripture is so true. If we're pleasing to the Lord, even our enemies will be at peace with us. All we have to do is seek to please the Lord and the rest of our lives, we will have peace with others and peace of mind that we're living right. I believe that this scripture says what it does, because if we're pleasing God, then we are doing no harm to others. We often try to get revenge on our enemies and that does not please God and that comes back on us. When we seek revenge on someone, we are starting a never ending cycle. We get revenge, but then they want revenge for the revenge we got and they cause us more harm. If we love one another and obey God's commandments, then we will have no trouble not even with our enemies. I have people that don't like me, but I stay clear of them and don't go trying to cause trouble and they don't bother me. If we're pleasing to God, then no one has any bad thing to use against us. If we're pleasing to God, then we are more than willing to help a fellow man and if we're kind, who can truly be our enemies? Who can truly hate us, if we're kind to them?
Don't get me wrong. Some people are going to despise you, just because you follow Jesus. They're going to persecute you and talk trash on you for this, but that is there problem. Some people just can't handle it. I've had people talk trash on me for my beliefs, but I've also had others even non-believers take up for me, because they thought I was a nice person. So, if you're doing right you will be at peace with the majority of people you run across. Some people just hate all that stands for good.
Just hang in there and keep seeking the Lord and you will find peace with others and with yourself!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to please you and to be at peace with others and with ourselves. Please bring us closer to you and guide us. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
