Pray & Give Thanks In All That We Do!

Sunday's Devotion (3-14-04)

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65:24 (KJV)

The Lord, knows our every need before we even tell him about our needs. He even knows the needs that we don't know we need. People have a problem with one question. They can't figure this one thing out and the question they need an answer for is this, "How come we need to ask for our needs, if God, knows what we need and it is all planned in His will anyway?" We need to ask, because there is something else that we all need and by going to God, we receive what we need. What I'm talking about is a close relationship with God. How many of you would come to God, if you didn't have to ask for something? We ask him to bless the food that we eat, we ask him to do this and that. How often would you go to God, if you didn't have to ask for something? We ask Him for forgiveness and so many other things. Now that I think about it, all my prayers mostly have me asking for something. If I had nothing at all to ask for, then my prayer time would be cut greatly. When we pray, that is our communication and time with God. God, wants to be our father and our friend. That is why He sent His Son, so that we could be united with Him. We need to ask, but we also need to know that God, already knows our needs and is going to provide for our needs. Also, another thing is that people often think they're bothering God, by asking for this and that. God, wants us to come to Him and ask for things and praise Him! God, isn't like some business you call on the phone to ask questions to and they say or act like, "Not you again! What do you want?" God, is very pleased with us when we bring our problems to Him. You know what bothers the Lord, is when we don't bring our problems to Him. It bothers Him, when we believe that we can handle our own problems and act like we don't need to ask or we don't want to ask because we might bother Him. I often have problems and I don't bring those problems to the Lord. I get so caught up, that I try to solve it myself or I just panic. One of our puppy's collars got caught in the vent once and he started choking. I started panicking and did not even think to pray. Thankfully someone else could think what to do and save the puppy. I think about stuff after it happens and think, "Now, I've disappointed the Lord, I didn't even pray about it. I tried to handle it myself." We need to pray and give thanks in all that we do!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Guide us and protect us in everything that we do. We come to you, even though we know you know our needs before we ask. We come to you, because we want a relationship with you. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive all those who've wronged us. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
