"He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor." Proverbs 22:9 (KJV)

This is one of the many promises in God's Word. I have been talking about faith and I have been talking about giving. If you have faith, you will give to the poor and needy. You will give because you know that these people need it and you know that God, is your provider. If God, is your provider than you're free to provide for the needs of others without worrying about your own finances. I notice in our household, we don't give enough and we don't live as good as God, would have us. We get by, but we can do much more than just get by. If we give out of love and faith, God, will give us more. God, will give us more because He'll know that we aren't greedy. He'll know that we share with people who need it. If we don't give, we'll be stuck just getting by and it doesn't have to be that way. The scriptures tell us that if we give we will be blessed. They don't say, "If you give, you will go more in debt!" However, that is the lie of the enemy. The enemy tells us that there is no reward for helping others. The enemy tells us that if we give, we will just put ourselves in more debt. That is a lie! It is just the opposite. If we give, we will come out of poverty and we will be blessed! The Lord, wants to bless us, but He wants us to learn to share first. Parents teach their children not to be greedy with their toys. God, is our father and He teaches us not to be greedy with our stuff. I'm sure sometime in our lives, we were all taught to share, but some of us act like we don't understand the concept. We see poor people on the streets and they look at us while we're at a fast food drive through and some of us say, "What does that guy, expect me to give him my food?" Well, let me tell you something. In this day and age, no one expects to get any help. These people feel hopeless, because no one has the kindness and love to help them out. Probably they're looking at you, because they're dreaming of eating that fast food sandwich, you're driving off with. Not only does it bless the receivers, when we give to them, but it blesses God. That is right, when we give God, is blessed! God, is very pleased and then He wants to shower you with blessings and gifts. It is like when your child does something very good, you just want to shower them with love and even gifts. Some people don't know that we can bless God. We can bless God, by showing that we care about others and His feelings. Doesn't it bless you, when someone goes out of their way to do something nice for you? Bless God and He will bless you! So, don't just look for your own blessings, but look to bless God!
