Seek Another's Wealth!

Sunday's Devotion (3-7-04)

"Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth." 1 Corinthians 10:24 (KJV)

When Jesus Christ, was on earth He didn't seek His own wealth. He desired to glorify God and to give salvation to us all! Jesus Christ, is still not after his own riches, but He is seeking to make us all wealthy. Not just financially wealthy, but spiritually. He wants to give us more spiritual wealth than any other kind of wealth. Money can't save your soul, but giving money may just be enough to bring someone to the Lord and save their soul. If you seek to help others and if you do it, then you will be a light for Jesus! Once you shine that light, you are going to save souls. So, if you give someone in need wealth by money and show them that you care, then you could eventually bring them to the spiritual wealth, that Jesus Christ, wants for us all. Many people preach to people and do not help those they are preaching to. For example let's say that you come to my home in need of food and I start preaching to you and then send you away with nothing. That isn't going to bring you to the Lord and save your soul. What might make you think and come around is if I offered some food, money, clothing and even helped you get back on your feet. If we show them that we follow Christ and we are helping them out of kindness and love, that is what will bring them around. They will then know that God, is working in their lives and they will be thankful. If we seek another's wealth and not our own, not only will we be blessed spiritually, but we will be blessed financially as well! A lot of problems that we go through are because we seek our own wealth and no one else's. God, doesn't like greed. God, wants us to be loving and sharing. God, wants us to have concern one for another, like He has concern for us. God, has placed the rich as well as the poor on this earth. He has placed every person here and some people wonder why, God, would let there be homeless and poor people. You know why they're homeless? Because they are not spiritually wealthy and because God, wants to see us help. They are placed there as a test to see who will help and who will just turn their heads. That is my opinion on it. When you are tested, will you pass the test? I can't say that I'm doing all that great myself, but we can all sure pray and seek to do good for others. Remember, if you seek your own wealth, you will find destruction, but if you seek another person's wealth, you will find life! Seek another's wealth!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged us. Please help us to seek another's wealth and not our own. We know that we can't do that, without your love in our hearts, so please put your love in our hearts. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
