Love & Be At Peace With Everyone!

Sunday's Devotion (2-29-04)

"Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins." Proverbs 10:12 (KJV)

Hatred, causes so many problems in this world, that it's not even funny. If you have a hatred for someone, you're going to go out of your way to do bad things to the ones you hate. If our country hates another country, eventually we will go to war and that brings us more problems. Both sides end up losing men and women out in combat and everyone pays the price of hatred. September 11th, 2001 was a day that hatred was shown against the United States of America. That day caused us so much trouble, that we are still fighting 'til this day. Many lives are being lost over this and this should not be. If we all had love in our hearts, that horrible event on September 11th, would've never happened.

If we have love all sins are covered. Because if you love, you will not do any harm to another person. If you love me, are you going to burn my house down or steal from me? The answer is no! Notice that when Jesus, was crucified it wasn't the people that loved Him, that did it to Him. It was the people who hated and despised Jesus Christ, that crucified Him! That event had to be done, but in order for that to take place, Jesus, had to have some people who hated Him! If no one would have had hatred towards Jesus, that event couldn't of took place. However, God, did use that situation for good. Every bad thing that happens, God, already has a good result planned for it. When September 11th, took place that bad was used for good. Many people had their eyes opened and began to see that they needed Jesus.

We need to have love towards each other or else we are never going to be at peace. Let's say that I hate my neighbor. If I hate my neighbor, then I won't have any peace when I step outside. I'll be tempted to go do something harmful to him and once I end up doing an act of hatred towards him, that is going to cause problems. After I cause problems with my hatred, I will have no peace. I will be stuck worrying about what acts my neighbor will do to me, to get revenge. That is no way to live! Love and be at peace with everyone!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged us. Please bring us closer to you and put your love into our hearts. May we be at peace with all men and women! In Jesus, name. A-men!
