God, Appreciates Your Love!

Thursday's Devotion (2-26-04)

"And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little." Luke 7:44-47 (KJV)

People, don't realize how important love is in our walk with the Lord. The more we love, the more we have forgiveness. I wonder why that is? Maybe it's because God, is love and if you love then God, is living in you. If we don't have much love, then it is something we need pray for and even if we have a lot of it, we need to pray for more. Love, is something we can't have too much of. The woman in these scriptures showed great love. She went out of her way to do those things mentioned for the Lord. Imagine if we went out of our way for others. Not just people we know, but strangers too. However, to do those things you have to have love in your hearts. If we have hatred in our hearts, we are in trouble. Because hatred, makes our lives miserable, but love makes our life worth living. Pray for love in your heart and you will find happiness.

Love is more than a word. Some followers think that they can get away with telling others, "I love you!" then just turn their head from those people and not help. What love is it, if you see a starving man and say, "I love you!" then give him no food or money? It is not love, to leave someone in a bad situation. Let's take a look at when Jesus, was betrayed and was going to go to be crucified. His disciples hated the idea and wanted to help Him. Even though Jesus, couldn't accept their help, would it have been true love they had for Jesus, if they would've just turned their heads and acted as if nothing was happening? We can't really show love to people we don't know, if we don't go out of our way. If you're at the store and you just act like everyone else, how are you showing love? How are you showing that God, lives in you? Maybe we could open doors for people or let people go in front of us in line. We need to give what we have: time, money and whatever else that will help someone in need. Even if people don't appreciate your love, remember that God does! God, appreciates your love!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for everything. Please help us to have more and more love in our hearts for other people and for you. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged us. Bring us closer to you and help us to save many souls by being a shining light. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!
