Know The Truth, Live The Truth!
Thursday's Devotion (1-29-04)
"There is a way which
seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs
14:12 (KJV)
I've talked on
this scripture several times in the past, but I find it to have a very important
message. I've seen people and have even been a person, who thought that I was
doing right before God and was really doing wrong. Let's say you have an apple
and you run into a homeless hungry man. You might think that it's a good thing
to cut the apple in half and to share it. It's a nice thought, but the right
thing to do would be to give the man all of the apple and anything else that
could help him. Maybe some money or etc. Because the homeless man needs the
stuff more than we do. There are also some things that aren't so obvious to do.
There have been times where I have completely blown it, thinking what I was
doing is what God, wanted me to do and He wanted the opposite! The ways of man
lead to death (Hell). If you really want to do right in God's sight, you need
knowledge of God. Let's say that you never read about me or anything and you
were asked, "What does David, say about unmarried sex? Does David, think it's ok
or does he not approve of it?" How would you answer that question, if you didn't
know me? You could guess and say something and end up completely wrong or you
could read up about me and know what I think of it. It's the same way with God.
You can guess what is right in his eyes or you can read up on it, in the Bible
and do right. If you guess, you will always fail. You will always fail, because
there is a way that seems right to man and the end thereof are the ways of
death! The answers are all right in the scriptures. Also, you need to read the
scriptures yourself. I'm getting more and more familiar of how easy it is for
other people to take scriptures out of context and use them for their own
advantage. I'm seeing more and more people do it and it's bothering me. There
are too many people, being deceived by scripture being taken out of context or
being twisted. I beg you, not to be one of the people who are deceived. I beg
you to be a person, who goes to the Word and knows the truth. Know the truth,
live the truth!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message. Please forgive us of
all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged, us. Please help us to know
what is right in your sight. Bless our journey through your Word and keep us in
it, for as long as we live. In Jesus, name. A-men!
God bless!
Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the
