What comes to my mind is this: A prideful man, will do things that degrades himself. For example, if someone calls a prideful person stupid, the prideful person will have to go out of his way, not only to prove his smarts, but to show that the person making the accusation is dumber than himself. By doing this, the prideful person is really just showing how prideful they are and bringing themselves, to a lower level. I can be prideful sometimes and I can look really stupid at times and the times that I look stupid, are the times that I'm being prideful. Coincidence? I think not! Have you thought about how stupid you might look, when you're acting prideful? Once you think about it, it really takes away the point of being prideful. I mean we're prideful, to make ourselves look better and if we're actually looking worse, then there is no point. I never thought of pride, in this light before. Maybe next time, I'll catch myself being prideful and know that it isn't helping me any. Like I said in my other devotions, pride breaks apart friendships, families and etc. In other words, who needs pride? I'd rather have friends and I especially would rather have Jesus!

Let's talk about some of the benefits of being humble. A humble person, won't go down to the level of a prideful person. If you call a humble person stupid, they'll think or say, "So what?" That's really the way to be. Don't let pride get the best of you, by killing the next person who calls you dumb! Let honor uphold you and don't let yourself go down to a degrading level. I've let myself go to that degrading level and not only is it embarrassing, but it causes a lot of hard feelings. I find that people like me better, when I'm humble. I'm not better than anyone else. God, doesn't have more favor towards me, than He does towards another believer. With that being said, why should I have an attitude that says, "God, loves me, more than you!"? If we are humble we can ask for things in the name of Jesus and receive those things. If we are humble, we will inherit God's Kingdom! Pride, will not get you into those pearly gates, but being humble and seeking the Lord, will! Don't let pride, run your life!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged, us. Please help us to be humble. Don't let pride run our lives. In Jesus, name. A-men!
