Be Perfect In God's Love!

Wednesday's Devotion (1-14-04)

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." 1 John 14:18 (KJV)

We can sometimes let fear get a pretty tight grip on our lives. The enemy plants fear and the fear torments us. I go through tough times, where I really fear that I'm going to Hell. The fact that I would worry about that means, that I'm not quite made perfect, in God's love. God, loves me, but I don't always realize that. God, loves you, but you need to be secure in his love. If we know that God, loves us, we should also know that God, will not send us to Hell. Just like if you know your spouse loves you, you know that they would never want to hurt you. If your spouse loves you, then you don't have to be scared that your spouse will come home and abuse you. Perfect love, casts out fear. When you have perfect love and are secure that you have it, then you have no fear. I'm an insecure person and I don't always feel loved and then I get scared.

We all need to be made perfect, in the love of God. We all need that security. We can have that security, if we know God's Word, good enough and continue in His Word. You can look at one scripture and feel condemned, but if you look at another scripture, you'll see that the love of God, is stronger than anything. There are scriptures that condemn, but there are scriptures that say repent of your sins and be saved. So, all the love of God, over powers the condemnation. God, sent His Son, so we wouldn't have to be condemned. We need to do right with God, but if we mess up, we need to know that God, still loves us!

It's God's love that takes away our sin. If it's God's love that takes away our sins, then it's God's love that perfects us!

I sometimes get tripped up in doing works. If I don't do this or that, I'm not saved anymore! Well, I wasn't able to do yesterday's devotion, some stuff came up. However, God, still loves me. It's not about what I do. It's about what He did! However, I'm sorry for not putting up yesterday's devotion and I hope you enjoy today's!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged us. Please make us, perfect in your love. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board.
