A lot of people, do good things, but they lose their reward in Heaven. They lose their reward, because they have to show off that they do good things. Our Heavenly Father, will reward us openly, if we don't go and get our reward from people. I'd rather have a gift from God, than a gift from man. If I have a lot of money and go out and buy a poor guy, a home and come back online and tell all of you, who visit this site, I wouldn't get a reward from God. I'd get my reward from your praise to me. Many people, seek the praise of man, rather than the riches of God! We miss out on a much better life, when we do nice things and then brag about it. Do your alms in secret and God, will reward you openly! God, sees all so if you want a reward from Him, you don't need to do your alms in front of everyone. You need to do your alms in secret. Here's an example of how many people miss out on being blessed from God. Movie stars and etc, make this mistake. You'll see these people on television holding a giant check, giving it to a hospital or etc. They stand there with the big check handing it over, with a big smile. It's kind of like saying, "Hey, look at me! I'm a very special person!" That doesn't impress me much. It doesn't impress me for a couple of reasons. One reason is because the people who do that, have money to do it and it's just like me giving a penny out of my income. The other reason is because they have to show off and that is a sign of someone looking for the praise of men. If you're going to do something, do it out of the kindness of your heart and do it in secret. If you give and give like that, then God, will be pleased and He will reward you! Seek your reward from the Lord!
