Watch What You Watch!

Monday's Devotion (1-5-04)

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6: 22-23 (KJV)

You know that the enemy, uses a lot of things to destroy us. When we watch horror movies or pornography, that hurts us spiritually. Those things make us, become full of darkness. I don't watch those things, because they're not of the Lord and I'm just not that kind of person. A lot of people get online to look at pornography. If you're one of those people, please consider the effect it's having on your spiritual life. If you're married, you're committing adultery by getting into pornography and if you're not married you are still fornicating. This destroys our spiritual life. Because the eye is the light of the body. What goes into your eye, is shining through the rest of your body. If you look at things that you shouldn't, it will make you do things that you shouldn't. For example if there is pizza in my fridge and I keep replaying a pizza commercial, whether or not I'm hungry, I'll go get me some pizza. We can not put something bad in front of our eyes and expect to continue doing right. We are weak humans and we will fall to temptation! Sometimes, it takes a fall to make us realize, what we're doing wrong.

Many married women have spouses who say, "I own you, now watch this porno with me!" I've heard about this and it's sickening. They say stuff like, "Jesus says you're supposed to submit to me and I say let's watch this!" Well, Jesus, also says, "Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother." Mark 10:19" We are supposed to submit ourselves to God, more than anyone else. So, if your husband or wife, is telling you to commit a sin, you're supposed to obey Jesus, over your spouse! Jesus, is supposed to be our first love.

Don't put yourself in a situation of temptation, by looking at evil things. If you do, you will end up falling and when you fall, it will hurt! If you have a spouse and you tempt yourself with pornography, to the point where you go out and have sex with someone else, you could end up losing your spouse and end up with nothing and no one!

Watch what you watch!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message. Please forgive us of all our sins and we forgive those who've wronged, us. Please bring us closer to you and help us beware of what we are looking at. Help us, to watch for you and not for the things of this world. In Jesus, name. A-men!

God bless!

Hope you enjoyed. Please post your thoughts on this topic, on the message board.
